Top quality portable Conductivity Meter – still made in USA
SIGMATEST 2.069 by Foerster is the  portable measuring instrument for determining the electrical conductivity of nonferromagnetic metals in accordance with the eddy current method. The unit determines physical and technical material properties.

The SIGMATEST is used for aircraft maintenance for determining Heat Damage, Stress Factors and Age Hardening of Aluminium.

The SIGMATEST is also used for controlling the quality of manufactured products, testing material combinations, and sorting alloys.

SIGMATEST features five different excitation frequencies and extremely high measuring accuracy. The unit retains its high level of accuracy even at the frequency of 960 kHz, making it possible to measure very thin samples with precision. SIGMATEST is able to automatically standardize the measured value of the electrical conductivity to 20°C thanks to integrated temperature compensation.

KARL DEUTSCH celebrates 70th anniversary in NDT

KARL DEUTSCH celebrated a remarkable anniversary in September this year, their 70th anniversary: The company was founded 70 years ago in Wuppertal. Since then Three generations of the Deutsch family have guided the company through the seven decades. This was all celebrated with their customers, long-time companions and friends of the company KARL DEUTSCH. In addition to a top-class conference, the two-day event also offered an exciting and entertaining supporting programme.

The anniversary event was opened by Mayor Andreas Mucke. As an engineer himself, he also followed the other presentations with great interest, as he acknowledges how important testing technology is for many branches of industry. The speeches were held by well-known personalities from research, development and the customer base.  Prof. Anton Erhard (DGZfP board member) reported on “70 Years of Ultrasonic Testing in Germany” and Dr. Dirk Treppmann (DGZfP board member, Evonik Industries) on the requirements for NDT in chemical plants. More than 200 worldwide guests enjoyed the invitation to Wuppertal. Perfect weather prevailed, the celebration took place on the factory premises, extensively prepared for the event.
